So yesterday one of my co workers Kylie says hay RQ lets go out drinking and watch the Giants game. You know I am all for that- except the drinking part. So we invited everyone we know down to the local golf coarse where they have a sports bar.
We sat down and reserved two tables. Kylie had her Giants shirt on. We both had just recently become Giants fans and we agreed we like the social aspect of the game, not really the game itself. Really I was just looking for some excitement! I also like the Giants because they were the underdogs and self proclaimed "misfits"
Next thing we know, the place was packed, we had the best seats in the house! The place was a buzz with people and activities. We would bang the table -bang, bang, bang bang bang, LETS GO GIANTS LETS GO! Then everyone else started. The place was rockin! We started yelling FEAR THE BEARD and TIM-A (doing our best south park impression) It was so much fun!
After what seemed like forever the Giants got a home run. Everyone jumped up and started screaming and high 5ing and dancing. It was crazy. When the Giants had their last ups, one of my new friends was off her chair almost hiding under the table, she said she could not take the tension and pressure of the game.
The GIANTS WIN- The crowd goes crazy! Dancing, jumping, yelling, Singing, clapping, hugging, banging the tables, crying, everything. Here in the bay area we needed something to celebrate. The Giants brought everyone together. Everyone was happy. It got our minds off all our problems for a few hours. On my way home people were shooting fireworks, it was like the 4th of July around here. People were out dancing on the streets celebrating!
So when I got home I called my dad and asked him if he wanted to go down to ATT park to celebrate. He said maybe next year. Then Shorty called to say how home sick she was especially now. I told her to fly out on Wednesday and we could go to the "ticker tape" parade. (I don't know how they are going to have a ticker tape parade when no one has ticker tape and the windows in most of the "new" building don't open. Maybe they will stand on the roofs- Maybe people will use shredding???) Shorty said she could not make it. DARN IT.
Anyways it was a great time! Thank You Giants for givings us something to celebrate and be happy about!
