Gurtrude

Tonight I took my dad to a dinner we had at church. It so happened we sat next to this lady named Gertrude. She is about my dad's age. Let me tell you they hit it right off. I was very happy. Dad and Gertrude have many things in common. They both like the hills were my big brother lives, they both like the hills where mountain mama lives, they both like tools....

Gertrude was talking about a router. I said to Gertrude, good you can teach my dad about the internet. Gertrude said I don't know anything about the internet. OH you mean a router as in wood tool? Yes she said. I have a new one in the box. In fact our pastor was giving Gertrude a hard time about bringing her leaf blower and power paint sprayer to church.

So my dad says on the way home, you know I think I could find a girl friend at your church...I said dad you still have it don't you!!! He gave me this little devilish smile. He said you know I would like to have a companion to go to the movies and stuff. He said I have never met a woman who likes tools.. My dad said do you think its weird that a woman likes tools? No, dad I think it's great! I was thinking they could make wooden boxes and go to buffets together.

Wouldn't it be great if my dad found a woman friend and God right about now???? Poor guy he is so lonely. He looks so frail.. Please God for my dad...

I'm still praying for your Dad to come to know Jesus...Haven't heard from him in a long time. One day he asked me, are you moving to Washington..I said yes I probably was..and that was that LOL. I think your dad has put away my picture by now...someone must have told him about David...but my intentions with your dad were pure and only about his health and spiritual walk. Hopefully Gertrude will router him into the faith!!!!!!!

Your dad is a friendly nice guy; it was great to get to know him and pray for him...and of course I will pray and pray for him to come to know our Lord and Savior as his own!!!!!! I think he does still have it in him and it would be great if gertrude would become a good companion for buffets and shared time together...i mean it isn't just any woman who even knows what a router is ya know! LOL
