20 Garlic Chicken


My Dad wanted me to make his favorite dinner, so I thought I would pass on the recipe. It is tasty and easy to make.

20 Garlic Chicken


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (do not use extra virgin oil)
  • 1 whole chicken
  • 20 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or however much you like)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf

Cut up chicken set aside
Cut up garlic set aside ( or press)
Squeeze lemon to get 2 tablespoons mix all liquids togther
add thyme, salt, pepper to liquids. Set aside

Melt butter and olive oil.
Brown chicken on both sides.( I use a dutch oven)
Take off heat.
Add bayleaf and garlic to the pot, Pour liquid mixture over chicken. Cover put in over at 350 for 1 -1 1/2 hours. Chicken will fall off the bone, It is so yummy.

I cook the same recipe...except i throw it all together in the crock pot and let it cook all day.......ummmm...ummmm....good!!

i was looking back at your old posts and saw this.. I have a 40 clove of garlic recipe for cornish game hens! Boy that makes the house full of aroma! ten puppies for each hen
